Q. Where will the seminar be held?
A. The 2013 seminar will take place at Camp Aldersgate, located at 1043 Snake Hill Road, North Scituate, RI 02857.
Q. When will the seminar be held?
A. The seminar will take place starting 7:00 AM Friday, June 7, 2013 - 12:30 PM Sunday June 9, 2013. You must be present for the entire seminar, including overnight stay.
Q. How can I sign up to attend HOBY?
A. If you would like to attend the HOBY Rhode Island seminar, please talk to your guidance counselor, or contact HOBY RI here.
Q. Where should I go when I arrive on Friday?
A. Please see instructions in your pre-seminar package.
Q. Where can my parent/guardian pick me up on Sunday June 6?
A. On Sunday June 9, they are invited to attend the Closing Ceremonies at 11:00 AM. However, if they can not attend the closing ceremonies, they can pick you up at 12:30 PM. Please see the pre-seminar package for detailed instructions.
Q. If necessary, how may I be contacted during the seminar?
A. We encourage you to call your parent/guardian at the conclusion of each day or during meal breaks. Parents, friends, and family members are strongly discouraged from calling students during the seminar due to the disruption to panels and activities. In case of emergency, your parent(s) or guardian may call Neil Swami or Todd Willits at the number's provided at check-in or in the pre-seminar package. The seminar will be chaperoned by qualified adults who will be staying at the facility 24 hours a day.
Q. What transportation arrangements have been made?
A. You are responsible for your transportation to and from the seminar. Please include all details of your itinerary on the enclosed Participant Confirmation Form. If you have last minute transportation problems, please notify Neil Swami.
Q. What if I am unable to attend the seminar?
A. If circumstances arise that prevent you from attending the entire seminar, including overnight stay, we would like to give another student the opportunity to attend. Please return these forms to the person at your school who selected you, and follow up with an email or call to Neil Swami.
Q. What action should I take now?
A. With your parent/guardian, carefully review, complete, sign, and return the seminar registration forms to HOBY Rhode Island no later than May 6, 2013.
